Our 'publications for sale' are in the middle of a major overhaul.

Eventually it will be possible to buy almost all the printed matter online from our shop at Lulu.com — Information Sheets as PDF downloads, but everything else as print–on–demand hardcopy. (Badges, ties and the like will remain as traditional mail order sales for the foreseeable future.) And for the moment we have 23 'SPs' up at the online store and 20+ of The War Correspondent back–issues, so everything else must be bought in the traditional way too.

Special Publications and back–issues of the War Correspondent are available for purchase by members of the Society and general public alike – however, obviously the best way to guarantee your quarterly copy of the War Correspondent is to join the Society!

All publications and items are available by traditional mail order from the Publications Officer, including those which are already available from the online store, for those who would prefer not to buy online.

SP41–COL The Charge Of The Heavy Brigade At Balaklava by Dr David R Jones. An illustrated guide, using David Jones' excellent recent photographs of the ground as it is today. Maps depicting the charge usually show the clash somewhere south of the crest of the Causeway Heights that divide the Plain of Balaklava into North and South Valleys, and anywhere between Nos 4 & 6 of the Causeway Heights redoubts. Here in SP41 Dr. Jones gives brief details of the events of the day until just after the Heavy Brigade action. He then pinpoints the probable location for the charge for the benefit of today's battlefield visitor through the use of excellent modern colour photos. This is the 'prequel' to Dr. Jones's SP42 (see below). This SP is more expensive than normal because it is in full COLOUR to best appreciate the photographs. The work is primarily intended as a guide for those actually walking the ground, but will surely become an essential addition to the shelves of all Balaklava buffs. [A4, 54pp, saddle-stitch, colour photographs].

PRINTS
The Society has acquired a number of prints from the Illustrated Times of 1855 and The Illustrated London News of 1854/5/6/7. They have yellowed to some degree, but the photocopies are of reasonable quality, some good enough for colouring and framing. Their size varies and the following list endeavours to indicate nearest approximate size to A4 and A3. They are available for 25 pence per A4 copy and 50 pence per A3 copy. However, it must be pointed out, that copies larger than A4 will have to be folded or will need A3 envelopes which cost 30 pence each. Please take this into account when ordering. Alternatively, A3 prints can be reduced to A4 when copying but of course, some detail will be lost.

Typical of items available are tinted copies of Simpson Lithographs, uniforms, monuments, ILN and Illustrated Times journals, personalities, places, events.
