H.M. Ships and their officers: “Mediterranean”
from the Navy List, corrected to the 20th of June, 1855.

Ships AGAMEMNON to MODESTE

Continue to Part Two; Ships N to W ►

Those officers known to have, or were currently, or would before the end of the campaign, serve ashore in the Crimea (at Eupatoria; with the Royal Naval Brigade; Royal Marine Brigade; 4 & 5 Batteries above Balaklava; in Balaklava harbour; at GHQ; &c.) are marked with a 'dagger'. However, research continues: this is not guaranteed to be a complete list…

Errors in the spelling of individual's names (actually rare in the Navy Lists) have been corrected to simplify searching. For the same reason, full names have been used, unlike most of the originals which only employed initials for most middle names in this section of the Lists. It will be noted, however, that a few initials remain — obstinately defying identification! Any help with these would be much appreciated — please email the webmaster at the address given on the contact page. Indeed, the webmaster would like to hear from you if you are researching anyone in this list.

Royal Marine officers who served ashore in the Crimea or in the Black Sea in general are linked to their War Services in Hart's New Annual Army Lists (1856, 1857, 1858 or 1859) like this: War Services Army List 1859
